Blue watercolor paints

Blue watercolor paints can either sit completely flat or start doing something the moment you add water.

These are handmade with a high pigment load, so they don’t wash out or lose themselves when you work in layers.

Some blues spread fast and stain. Others granulate and settle into the paper, creating texture without you forcing it.

If you work with skies, water, shadows, or large washes, this is where you will notice the difference.

You will see it when:

  • the wash starts to move instead of just sitting there
  • the color builds depth on its own
  • you don’t have to keep going back in to “fix” it
