Red watercolor paints

Red watercolor paints are usually where things either work or fall apart.

These are handmade with a high pigment load, so they don’t disappear when you add water or turn into something dull the moment you start mixing.

Some reds stay clean and quite direct. Others soften a bit at the edges or shift slightly depending on how much water you use and what you put next to them.

If you are working with florals, skin tones, or anything where red needs to carry the color without collapsing, this is where it makes a difference.

You will notice it when:

  • your mixes stay clear instead of turning muddy
  • the color still holds when you dilute it
  • you don’t have to fight it to get depth into the painting

That is really the point of this collection.
