Rouge Porto - No. 146

Rouge Porto is not a polite red.
It’s a deep, wine soaked, slightly dramatic red that knows exactly what it’s doing and is absolutely fine with it.

Think late evenings, heavy glasses, stained lips, and conversations that go on longer than planned. This color sits somewhere between ripe berries, old velvet, and that first sip of something red and serious. It has weight, warmth, and a quiet intensity that builds the longer you look at it.

In a light wash it opens into a soft, dusty red with a hint of transparency, like fabric that has seen a lot of life. Layer it, and it turns rich and saturated, almost brooding, perfect for florals with attitude, bold shadows, expressive marks, and paintings that need a bit of emotional gravity without tipping into drama queen territory.

Rouge Porto behaves beautifully, but it never disappears. It stays present. It stains slightly. It leaves a trace. Just like it should.
