Yellow watercolor paints

Yellow watercolor paints look simple, but they are not.

Some disappear as soon as you dilute them. Others take over everything around them.

These are chosen to hold their color in water and to mix without going chalky or weak.

They work as structure more than decoration.

If you use yellow to build light, warmth, or underlayers, this is where it matters.

You will notice it when:

  • the color is still there after you dilute it
  • your mixes stay clean instead of cloudy
  • you can build light without overworking it

That is what these yellows are doing.
