Yellow Rainbow - No. 81

Yellow Rainbow is the color of those very specific childhood moments you forgot you remembered.

It’s the yellow of sidewalk chalk that stained your fingers for the rest of the day, of opening a fresh box of markers and always grabbing the yellow first because it felt like cheating a little. It’s the glow of plastic sun catchers in classroom windows, of cereal boxes at eye level in the supermarket, of that one friend’s raincoat that was so yellow you could spot them from three streets away.

This is not a polite yellow. This is the yellow of running outside without a jacket because the sun looked convincing enough. Of popsicles melting faster than you could eat them. Of drawings where the sun was always smiling and always way too big, because why wouldn’t it be.

Yellow Rainbow refuses to behave quietly on paper. It shows up, spreads light, and insists on being noticed. Use it for highlights, joy, stubborn optimism, and those parts of a painting that need to feel like something good just happened.

This is yellow with scraped knees, sticky fingers, and absolutely no sense of restraint.
