The Blue Palette of Time 2025

Thirteen artists. Thirteen shades of blue. One palette that basically required a small amount of patience, a lot of pigment, and me standing in Denmark with a glass muller like a very niche medieval worker.

Every year I invite 13 artists from around the world to co-create a special palette with me, and for 2025 we chose blue. Each artist picked their pigment, and then I hand-mulled every single color on glass, adjusting and tweaking until it matched what they had in their head, which is honestly a strange job when you think about it. “Hi yes, I’m trying to match your vision… please hold while I grind minerals.”

Once the blues had cured, I made swatches. Then each artist named their blue, because naming colors is half the fun and half the existential crisis.

The result is The Blue Palette of Time 2025.
A full set of 13 handcrafted, eco-friendly half pans, each one carrying its own personality. Some are soft and quiet. Some are wild and granulating. Some act like they have plans. All of them are made in my studio in Denmark from raw pigment and natural ingredients, in a human pace, with real hands and no factory vibes.

This year’s palette is developed in collaboration with:

This palette is not mass-produced. It’s not fast. It’s not “add to cart and forget it.”
It’s collaboration. It’s slowness. It’s 13 humans + 1 very dedicated muller + a ridiculous amount of blue.

You’ll receive:
• 13 artist-developed blue shades in half pans
• And the feeling that you’re part of something bigger than just paint
