Summer Flowers 2025 – Öland is basically a Scandinavian summer island in palette form.
It has that specific Öland feeling: the mix of lush and dry greens, small cool toned flowers that look a little innocent but are absolutely thriving, and then the constant presence of the Baltic Sea in the background, grey blue and calm, like it has seen everything and does not care.
And then, every now and then, a poppy shows up. Bright orange red. Slightly chaotic. Like it’s there to make sure nobody gets too polite.
This palette is built around a rich green base, with cool pinks and blues that are found everywhere on the island if you actually stop and look. Wildflowers. Wind. Dusty paths. Dry grass. That soft northern light that makes everything feel quiet on the outside, but full of detail underneath.
It’s the kind of place where you can breathe properly.
And where the “shy landscape” still manages to be intensely alive.
