RetroRay - No. 150

RetroRay feels like a time machine you accidentally dipped your brush into.

It’s that specific yellow-orange glow that instantly throws you back to a simpler life, back when your whole world fit inside a backpack, your only real responsibility was showing up, and the biggest drama of the week was whether you had coffee money left.

This color has ocher in it, so it carries that grounded, dusty “real life” warmth, but then the neon kicks in and suddenly it’s also the poster on the wall, the highlighter in your notes, the weird synthetic light from the hallway at your school, and that low sun on your face when you walked home thinking you had all the time in the world.

On paper it behaves like nostalgia with attitude. It goes down warm and clear, and when it dries it keeps that retro glow, like the past is still slightly lit from inside. In a light wash it feels like faded memories and sunbleached paper. Push it darker and it turns into a full-on 90s golden flare.

Perfect for sunlight, brick walls, warm skin tones, autumn details, and anything that needs that “I miss my old life but also I don’t” kind of warmth.
