English Red is a deep, earthy red with good manners. It doesn’t shout. It turns up, does the job and looks good doing it.
It’s warm and grounded, the color of old brick, autumn leaves and garden soil after rain. It’s also granulating, so it settles into the paper with a bit of texture.
Use it for buildings, landscapes, warm shadows in portraits and any painting that needs some weight at the bottom.
