Casaneo is one of those brush lines that watercolor people keep mentioning for a reason.
It’s synthetic, but it’s made to imitate squirrel hair, which means it’s soft, flexible, and built for flow. The long, round hairs hold a lot of water and paint, so you can do smooth washes and big, effortless strokes without constantly reloading your brush every 12 seconds.
The fibers are these extra smooth, slightly “wavy” synthetic hairs, which is what gives it that satisfying color retention and even release. You can feel it when you paint. The brush stays soft, the pigment spreads nicely, and it doesn’t fight you.
Great for:
• wash techniques and backgrounds
• loose florals and leaves
• soft blending
• longer strokes and lines
• watercolor artists who like movement more than control
Basically, it behaves like squirrel hair, just without needing an actual squirrel to be involved. Which I personally appreciate.
