Casaneo is one of those brush lines that watercolor people keep recommending, and honestly… they’re not wrong.

It’s a synthetic brush made to imitate squirrel hair, which means it’s soft, flexible, and holds a surprising amount of water. And that’s exactly what you want when you’re trying to paint washes without ending up with streaks, stress, and weird dry edges.

This version has a bevel cut flat tip, which makes it extra useful. You get the control of a flat brush, but with more variety. You can lay down smooth washes, pull long strokes, create sharp edges, and even get nice lines and shapes just by changing the angle.

It’s made from those extra smooth “wavy” synthetic fibers, which is what gives it great color retention and an even release. So it doesn’t dump everything at once, and it doesn’t act like it’s offended when you ask it to blend.
