This color cube sits right where softness meets depth.
Petal & Rosewood pairs a light, open pink with a darker, muted violet grey. One feels fresh and exposed. The other feels layered and reflective. Together they create a palette that is gentle, complex, and quietly expressive.
This cube is for painters who like color with emotional range.
Petal is a pale, clear pink with a soft surface, a subtle sparkle and gentle movement.
In light washes it opens easily across the paper, creating airy, luminous areas with a delicate feel. With more pigment it gains presence while staying light and transparent. Petal feels fresh, human, and unforced.
It works beautifully for florals, skin tones, light backgrounds, and areas where color should feel open rather than decorative.
Rosewood is a muted rose violet with a slightly dusty, organic quality.
Diluted, it opens into soft, uneven washes with visible paper texture. With less water it gains depth and character without becoming heavy or decorative. Rosewood feels warm, reflective, and human.
This color is ideal for florals, skin tones, layered shadows, abstracts, and areas where color should carry quiet emotion.
