For as long as I can remember, stories have arrived before I knew what they were about.

Sometimes they begin with a woman standing on a harbor in the rain. Sometimes with an old man on a bus. A child who notices something everyone else has missed. A village that doesn't exist on any map. Or simply a sentence that refuses to leave me alone until I have followed it all the way to the last page. I rarely know where a story is going when I begin writing. I discover it the same way I hope you will - one page at a time.

STORIES – Novellas from My Soul to Yours is my monthly collection of original short fiction.

Every month you'll receive a brand-new novella. Some stories may feel quiet and familiar. Others may leave you wondering long after you've finished the last page. They are all different, but they share the same hope: that for a little while you'll forget where you are and find yourself somewhere else entirely.

I write because stories sometimes understand us before we understand ourselves. Perhaps you'll meet someone who reminds you of yourself. Perhaps you'll fall in love with a place that only exists for thirty pages. Perhaps you'll close the book feeling as though you've just returned from somewhere you've never been. I never know which story will arrive next. That is one of the things I love most about writing them.
